Coronavirus: An Update & For the Love of Scrubs Campaign

Grace Scott

Coronavirus is a worrying time for us all. Here’s what Rose’s Wardrobe is doing to ensure your safety, and giving back where we can.

ONLINE SHOPPING & POSTAGE

The government guidance on staying home and self-isolating to protect ourselves and each other is clear. The government has, however, made exceptions for some businesses, such as takeaways. Online retail is still permitted and encouraged by the government as this helps many small businesses stay afloat and the postal service is still running. You can read more about the Government advice on businesses and venues here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/further-businesses-and-premises-to-close/further-businesses-and-premises-to-close-guidance

Rose’s Wardrobe, which operates from home in Langholm, is safely designing, cutting and sewing all orders in isolation. Each item that’s packaged as a non-tracked, large letter is posted via the postbox on a once per day, socially distanced walk. The Langholm post van comes twice a week, and this is used for larger or international orders once a week.

SUPPORTING THE NHS

To say thanks to the NHS, and support them where possible, the Rose’s Wardrobe team has been sewing scrubs and selling NHS charity headbands to raise money.

Keeping Busy!

Keeping Busy!

Using fabric provided by the “For the Love of Scrubs” campaign, Rose’s Wardrobe has been sewing sets of scrubs to be sent out to the amazing NHS staff. With the leftover material, Rose’s Wardrobe has made up NHS Charity headbands. This prevents waste of excess materials, and let’s more money be raised for the NHS! Each headband costs £10 with £5 of that going directly back to “For the Love of Scrubs - Dumfries and Galloway” campaign. The rest of the price is to cover the cost of materials and is not for profit. Approximately, for every £5 donated is a set of scrubs that has been lovingly sewn up by volunteers just like Rose’s Wardrobe.

You can shop the NHS Charity Headbands here and support the NHS and social care works that need our support during this challenging time.

VIRTUAL FESTIVAL OF VINTAGE

The York Festival of Vintage was supposed to be going ahead this weekend (25th & 26th April, 2020), but will now take place online. The Festival of Vintage celebrates the fashion of the 1930s through to the 1960s. Rose’s Wardrobe will be offering a 10% Festival of Vintage code across the weekend. Use the code FOV10 to save 10% on your order.

THE TEAM

Rose’s Wardrobe was founded by Emma and Leanne after both having over 12 years of experience between them working in high street, vintage inspired, and fashion supplier backgrounds. The inspiration from Rose’s Wardrobe derived from Emma and Leanne’s muses - their grandmas and great grandma - Patricia, Edna, and Rose. The aim is to produce replicas of the beautiful clothes their grandmas wore, using colours, styles and prints from the 1940’s through to the 1960’s. You can connect with Rose’s Wardrobe on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. Have a look at where Rose’s Wardrobe will be here. Read our sustainability statement. Or, shop the collection
