1950s SPRING STYLE: THE JEAN BLOUSE

Jean, a beloved Grandmother of one of Rose’s Wardrobe’s friends (Rebecca) is the inspiration between the S/S21 staple, the ‘Jean’ blouse.

The preppy, vintage inspired ‘Jean’ blouse features cute cap sleeves, a collar with a cotton picot trim and keyhole detailing to the front.

The 1940s/1950s vintage inspired blouse is made from 100% cotton embroidery anglaise, and fastened with self-covered buttons.

1950s SPRING STYLE: THE CHECK SKIRT

A preppy, pleated, check skirt is a staple in any 1950s vintage inspired wardrobe. The skirt can be worn with Rose’s Wardrobe’s Jean blouse on warmer days, or with a jumper on those cooler Spring evenings.

Rose’s Wardrobe’s ‘Mary-Jane’ knife pleat skirt features a flattering feminine silhouette. The daffodil yellow stripe contrasts against the check’s slate greys and browns, and the 1950s inspired skirt is lined with a luxurious 100% organic bamboo silk in slate grey.

The fabric itself is woven only metres away from Rose’s Wardrobe in Langholm’s last working mill, Drove Weavers. The ‘Mary-Jane’ skirt is the ultimate classic piece for any vintage wardrobe.

1950s SPRING STYLE: ACCESSORIES

The finishing touch to any vintage inspired outfit is the accessories. Rose’s Wardrobe’s stock a variety of headbands to finish off any vintage inspired outfit or add a vintage touch to any Spring outfit.

1950s SPRING STYLE: OTHER PICKS FROM ROSE’S WARDROBE

If you prefer trousers to skirts, Rose’s Wardrobe’s ‘Patricia’ trouser is a tapered leg in a new, limited edition dark subtle stripe.

A shirt is a staple in any vintage inspired wardrobe. The popular ‘Lilias’ blouse is a 1950s style, revered collared blouse that’s made from Tencel twill which is softer than silk and eco-friendly. The cool nature of Tencel makes this blouse lightweight enough for summer, or with a cardigan on top in the colder months for a true 1950s style.

The ‘Lilias’ blouse is available in both Khaki and a limited edition Biscuit colour.

THE TEAM

Rose’s Wardrobe was founded by Emma and Leanne after both having over 12 years of experience between them working in high street, vintage inspired, and fashion supplier backgrounds. The inspiration from Rose’s Wardrobe derived from Emma and Leanne’s muses - their grandmas and great grandma - Patricia, Edna, and Rose. The aim is to produce replicas of the beautiful clothes their grandmas wore, using colours, styles and prints from the 1940’s through to the 1960’s.
