New Year Plans: What's Happening at Rose's Wardrobe This Year

Happy New Year! We hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and are excited for the year ahead. Read on to find out what we're up to this year.

New Collections

Spring is just around the corner and we are busy designing our new collection! We have loads of new fabrics to look forward to, as well as new and classic styles.

A sneak preview of some of our Spring fabrics

Later on in the year, we'll be launching our summer and autumn collections, so there's lots to look forward to!

In the meantime, you can still shop Autumn 2021 while you wait or use our bespoke order service to request custom designs or past styles. We will be back at work on the 11th of January to start working on any new orders.

Festival of Vintage

After 2 years of delays, we're finally going to Festival of Vintage in York at the end of April! We will have our own stand where we'll be offering tailored consultation appointments. You can browse styles, feel our fabric swatches for yourself and get measured for made-to-order garments. Bookings for these slots will be opening later this month, so keep an eye out!

We are so excited to be able to meet lots of other vintage fashion enthusiasts and some of our lovely customers. Find out more about Festival of Vintage and book your tickets now on their website

We are starting a Community Interest Company!

Rose's Wardrobe will still be here but we have decided to start another big project on the side called Creation Mill.

This will be a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.) set up to provide workshops, training and short courses in all things textiles. We are extremely passionate about this project and working with our community to keep textiles alive in our town.

Langholm has a rich textile history, at the height of its success there were over 15 working textile mills producing high quality wool and tweed fabrics.

We hope to inspire the next generation to take interest in the local industry, working with local schools, colleges, and the job centre. The programme of workshops and courses will provide a wide range of skills including weaving, darning and product creation. We will also provide flexible meeting/workshop spaces, affordable maker spaces, a scap store and tool library and tell a story of the textile history of Langholm.

You can follow the Creation Mill instagram to learn more!

And much more...

We also have plans to expand on our community sewing and mending workshops with Textiles Eskdale and we're hoping to grow even more as a business. Thanks for sticking with us this year, we couldn't do it without all of your support 💕

Rose’s Wardrobe was founded by Emma and Leanne after both having over 12 years of experience between them working in high street, vintage inspired, and fashion supplier backgrounds. The inspiration from Rose’s Wardrobe derived from Emma and Leanne’s muses - their grandmas and great grandma - Patricia, Edna, and Rose. The aim is to produce replicas of the beautiful clothes their grandmas wore, using colours, styles and prints from the 1940’s through to the 1960’s. Anna joined our team this year as our brand assistant. She is a recent fashion graduate and helps out with everything from social media to sewing.
