Out Now! 'An Autumn Stroll' Part 2

We are well into Autumn now and the second drop of our collection is now available. This time, we are offering four new fabrics, a new jumper colour and new styles to keep you cosy.

THE STYLES

THE 'GWYNETH' CAPE

We have been wanting to add a cape style to the wardrobe for years and it's finally here. This is a mid-length cape with button front and convertible collar, complete with hand slots for ease of movement.

We ran a competition on Instagram to name this cape and 'Gwyneth' was randomly selected as the winner. Thank you to everyone who took part!

THE 'ELIZABETH' SKIRT

We first launched the 'Elizabeth' skirt in 2020, but it is back for this season in a new fabric. This is a knee-length A-line skirt with a feature box pleat at the front and concealed zip at the back. We have added removable straps this time around which complete the vintage look.
The style is inspired by photos of both of Leanne's great Aunts - how stylish do they look!

THE 'ISABELLA' JUMPER

Our favourite jumper is back in a vintage blue shade. This piece is produced just 30 minutes up the road from us in Hawick, known for it’s high quality knitwear manufacturing. The yarn is a super soft lambswool cashmere, perfect for the cooler months.

Both Granny Rosie and Edna loved a short sleeved jumper, Isabella is Granny Rosie’s middle name so feels fitting to name it after her.

THE 'LILLIAS' BLOUSE

One of our classic blouse styles, the 'Lillias' blouse, now comes in our ivory print. Spruce up your outfits with this colourful piece, perfect to layer under a 'Polly' waistcoat or our new cape.

THE 'POLLY' WAISTCOAT

Our waistcoat was launched earlier this season with huge success, and it is back for part 2 in our Drove Weavers windowpane check. Pair with a matching 'Elizabeth' or 'Rosie' skirt for the perfect Autumn look.

This wool is woven on Drove Weavers' new machine, which weaves lettering into the selvedge. It makes such a beautiful detail inside the waistcoat.

THE 'ANNA' BAG

Our new bag is here! The 'Anna' bag is inspired by a bag owned by Leanne's gran (Helen) in the 1940s. Gathered bags were very popular in the 40s, and came in a range of sizes and fabrics.

The 'Anna' bag is closed by pulling the strap, then secured by pulling the strap a loop. It comes in three colour options, each with a matching lining. The bag is reversible, so whichever fabric combination you choose, you can wear it two ways.

THE 'ROSIE' SKIRT

The ‘Rosie’ skirt is one of our bestsellers and is now available in our new windowpane check - woven right here at Drove Weavers. This classic vintage inspired skirt is named after Granny Rosie, a half circle full volume skirt is just as wonderful as the woman who inspired it.

THE 'VALERIE' JACKET

You may remember 'Valerie' as the first jacket we launched in 2020. We are bringing it back this year in a lovely wool houndstooth check, but we only have enough fabric for one so it will be completely unique!

THE NEW FABRICS

THE WINDOWPANE CHECK

WOVEN BY DROVE WEAVERS

This fabric is a windowpane check in navy and pale blue, made from 100% wool. It will be limited edition, but we have enough to make quite a few items. We will be offering 'Polly' waistcoats, 'Rosie' and 'Elizabeth' skirts and 'Anna' bags in the new fabric.

THE DOUBLE-FACED WOOL

Our new 100% wool fabric is double faced, perfect for unlined garment which show off the beautiful multi tonal and navy sides. This will be used for the 'Gywneth' cape, and you can choose which side you would like to show on the outside.

THE HOUNDSTOOTH CHECK

With splashes of orange and blue, this 100% wool fabric is eye-catching but classic. The houndstooth pattern gives it a great vintage feel, so know that this will be a popular one! As it is deadstock, we only have enough to make one 'Valerie' jacket.

THE HERRINGBONE TWEED

WOVEN BY ELLIOTT'S SHED

The fabric was woven by Lynn Elliott of Elliott's Shed, whose studio is located in the same mill as ours. It is a herringbone tweed in beautiful shades of orange and burgundy, perfect for Autumn! We only have enough for one skirt, so order quickly to avoid disappointment.

THE TEAM

Rose’s Wardrobe was founded by Emma and Leanne after both having over 12 years of experience between them working in high street, vintage inspired, and fashion supplier backgrounds. The inspiration from Rose’s Wardrobe derived from Emma and Leanne’s muses - their grandmas and great grandma - Patricia, Edna, and Rose. The aim is to produce replicas of the beautiful clothes their grandmas wore, using colours, styles and prints from the 1940’s through to the 1960’s. Anna joined our team this year as our brand assistant. She is a recent fashion graduate and helps out with everything from social media to sewing. You can connect with Rose’s Wardrobe on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest. Have a look at where Rose’s Wardrobe will be here. Read our sustainability statement. Or, shop the collection
