An Interview with the Rose's Wardrobe Team: Our Year In Review

We've interviewed lots of our modern vintage muses in the last two years, but now it's time to hear from us! Emma, Leanne and Anna round up our year and discuss plans and goals for 2022.

Emma

What has been the highlight of 2021 for you?

Seeing our business grow by hiring our first employee!

What has been your favourite garment we've released this year?

The 'Polly' waistcoat in our Windowpane Check. The fabric is woven by Drove Weavers in the mill we work from, so it's really special to get to use it.

What are you most looking forward to next year?

Going to Festival of Vintage in April. It's been two years in the making thanks to COVID and we have some big plans for our stand. I'm also looking forward to seeing where Rose's Wardrobe goes next.

What are your goals for Rose's Wardrobe in 2022?

To keep doing what we do, using fabrics we feel passionate about. I would also love to maybe expand the team even more.

Do you have a New Year's resolution?

To carry on learning to machine knit (and the rest of the team know that she should also try to take more time off next year!)

Leanne

What has been the highlight of 2021 for you?

Taking on our first employee and being able to add new styles to our collections.

What has been your favourite garment we've released this year?

The 'Polly' waistcoat, I like the tailored aspect of it. It's always nice to see it fitting customers perfectly.

What are you most looking forward to next year?

Releasing new styles that we've been excited to put out for a while and seeing how our business grows.

What are your goals for Rose's Wardrobe in 2022?

To grow the business and hopefully hire another new employee!

Do you have a New Year's resolution?

I'd like to make the business even more sustainable by further reducing our carbon footprint.

Anna

What has been the highlight of 2021 for you?

Finishing university and seeing my graduate collection on display in London was amazing, and finding a job that I love in my field has been very surreal!

What has been your favourite garment we've released this year?

For me, it has to be the 'Gwyneth' cape. It looks incredible and everyone seems to agree! Like a lot of our garments, it's even more beautiful in person and it's so so soft.

What are you most looking forward to next year?

Watching the business thrive even more and teaching more sewing and craft workshops in the community. I would also really love to go away on a real holiday, so fingers crossed we'll still be able to travel!

What are your goals for Rose's Wardrobe in 2022?

To keep working with other local businesses but to also expand our reach to new customers around the world.

Do you have a New Year's resolution?

Mine is to do more of the things that make me happy and to take care of myself.

THE TEAM

Rose’s Wardrobe was founded by Emma and Leanne after both having over 12 years of experience between them working in high street, vintage inspired, and fashion supplier backgrounds. The inspiration from Rose’s Wardrobe derived from Emma and Leanne’s muses - their grandmas and great grandma - Patricia, Edna, and Rose. The aim is to produce replicas of the beautiful clothes their grandmas wore, using colours, styles and prints from the 1940’s through to the 1960’s. Anna joined our team this year as our brand assistant. She is a recent fashion graduate and helps out with everything from social media to sewing.
